Description:  Qualifications:     High School Diploma or equivalent GED Excellent written, oral, organizational, time management and communication skills Experience related to the specific responsibilities and competencies of the instructional aide role Ability to multi-task and take direction General Summary: This position provides assistance to one or multiple supervising teachers and/or building principal.  Flexibility and strong organizational skills are important.  It is equally important to be goal driven and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while adhering to Board Policy. Performance Responsibilities:     Participates as an effective team member across all settings in a manner that promotes collaboration for student success by carrying out team decisions as assigned. Contributes relevant information and assists with planning, problem solving and decision making. Assists with the preparation of instructional /learning resources.   Supervises students in teacher-planned activities and helps students stay on task for programs taught by supervising teachers. Assists the teacher with implementation of instructional strategies in the classroom that respect individual differences, foster student achievement and maintain supportive and inclusive environments.  Performs support tasks to enhance the effectiveness of the learning environment. Demonstrates continued professional growth to meet changes in the position.  Supervise students in the cafeteria, recess or as assigned by supervising teachers.  Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications and/or classroom activities.  Carries out work responsibilities effectively under pressure of deadlines, difficult situations, interruptions and new or emergency situations.  Performs routine instructional and non-instructional support tasks, including clerical duties and use of adaptive/assistive equipment or technology. Meets applicable district physical ability as well as health and safety guidelines for the position. Demonstrates respect for students, staff and parents in all situations.  Type of Position:   Hourly - non-exempt Salary Schedule:  Para Reports to: Building administrator Evaluated by: Building administrator          Term of service:  180 days, At will employee
