| Description: | Position: Assistant Director of Special Services & Young Learners Qualifications: Education Level: Graduate degree (Master or above) from and accredited college/University Certification: Administrative Certification (building principal and/or Special Services Director) Experience desired: Minimum of 3 years teaching experience General Summary:Conduct classroom walkthroughs of special education teachers and related service providers along with Executive Director Performance Responsibilities: Assist in the oversight of administration and supervision of Young Learners (pre-K and ECSE) K-12 special education Oversee Parents As Teachers Complete walk-through observations for special education teachers and related services Coordinate interviews for paraprofessional and related service vacancies. Assist with teacher screenings Meet quarterly with SLP’s and related service providers to provide compliance clarification Provide support and assistance to process coordinators Develop, provide, and promote regular inservice training to special education teachers regarding special education compliance and paperwork processes as well as assist mainstream classroom teachers with inclusion facilitation. Oversee Proportionate share dollars and meeting with providers/families yearly as well as tracking proportionate share funding. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of MTSS over Summer Discovery, ELL, Gifted, CPI, etc. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director of Student Services Type of Position: Supervisory Reports to: Executive Director of Student Services Evaluated by: Executive Director of Student Services Contract: 220 Days Student Focused | Strongly Connected | Success Driven | |
