Description:  5-8 TECHNOLOGY AND JUNIOR HIGH ELECTIVES TEACHER NCA is a Christian College Preparatory School serving grades Jr.K-12. All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: "New Covenant Academy is a Christian college preparatory school committed to achieving Academic Excellence, teaching Biblical Truth, and developing Christ-like character" New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates, for a full-time Grades 5-8 Technology and Junior High Electives teacher. Other Jr. High electives can include Multimedia, STEM, Study/Life Skills, Competitive Speech, Drama, or Lifetime Sports. Electives based on candidate expertise or experience and student need. The employment agreement is renewable annually pending board approval) beginning approx. Aug. 2021 to May 2022. Specific schedule TBD. The individual will work at the Liberty Campus location 3581 S. Kansas Ave., Springfield, MO. JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Computer Teacher and Library Specialist will primarily be responsible to teach and promote the integrated use of technology as a learning tool via tech sessions with 5-8 grade classes and will teach one elective (to be determined). This role will also be responsible for the management of the Liberty Campus Loft book collection with an emphasis on growing and/or maintaining the collection. The teacher is to engage and inspire students to learn the subject matter and impart skills and attitudes that will positively contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women. The teacher will integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum, and plan and implement a course of study to meet the individual needs of students, prepare and submit lesson plans, and assess student progress while demonstrating their own mastery of the subject matter taught. The teacher must also communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, students, administration, and faculty for the success of each student. TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must have a valid Missouri (or from another state within the U.S.) Teaching Certificate and hold an appropriate endorsement in the areas of instruction with a minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science degree in the area of teaching. Preferred candidates will have a Library Media Specialist Certification or have a general teacher certification with a strong understanding of educational technology. Furthermore, candidates must have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that exemplifies the Christian faith, and must demonstrate evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ, and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian school. BENEFITS & COMPENSATION: The salary base for this position with the required minimum education begins at $34,810 for a first-year teacher with certification. The full-time Teacher is offered medical insurance for the employee, with NCA paying for a majority of the premium. The employee may pay for additional supplemental plans for themself and their family. Fringe Benefits include: 50% discount in tuition for your own qualified student to attend New Covenant Academy. Contingent on the employee being on a health plan offered by NCA, additional dependent health insurance benefit is available in the 3rd and following consecutive years of employment with NCA paying up to $175 per month for a dependent not on another insurance plan and up to a maximum of $87.50 per month for dependents that are covered by another health policy.
