| Description: | Gallatin School District is seeking two experienced and positive paraprofessionals. There is an elementary opening and also a position in the high school. Responsibilities for paraprofessional: assist teacher with lessons and daily classroom activities, communicate with children and help them understand lessons, prepare the classroom setting to promote a healthy learning environment, ensure classroom safety standards are met at all times, monitor children with particular attention to those with special needs, engage with children to enhance learning, and perform clerical tasks as required. Qualifications for Paraprofessionals: Must be able to obtain proper certification. (60 hours of college credit or pass the ParaPro exam). Experience in helping teachers in a classroom environment desired. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills,good understanding of the educational system, strong interpersonal and social attributes, disciplined and diligent nature, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching, patient with children including those with special needs, ability to stand and move around for extended periods of time. | |
