| Description: | The Winston R-VI School District is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered leader to serve as our Athletic/Activities Director for the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers the opportunity to positively impact students beyond the classroom by building meaningful extracurricular experiences that foster belonging, leadership, and personal growth. The AD provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for all secondary extracurricular programs. This role is focused on promoting broad student participation, ensuring compliance with MSHSAA regulations, and cultivating a culture rooted in sportsmanship, respect, and Redbird pride. The successful candidate will lead and grow programs that balance athletic excellence with academic accountability, character development, and strong community connections. A successful candidate will value relationships and understand the important role extracurricular activities play in student engagement and school culture. Responsibilities include overseeing all athletic and activity programs, developing and maintaining schedules and calendars, coordinating facility use, and ensuring safe, well-supervised events. The AD will work closely with coaches, families, administration, and community partners to support student success and create positive experiences for all stakeholders. This role also serves as a key communicator for Winston R-VI, sharing activity updates and celebrations through the school website, social media, HUDL, and other platforms. The AD represents the district at conference meetings and community events and collaborates with booster clubs, cooperative schools, and local partners to strengthen programs and build Redbird pride. | |
| Other Information: | Qualified candidates will demonstrate effective leadership skills, strong communication, and a commitment to students. Prior teaching or coaching experience is preferred, along with knowledge of and the ability to comply with all MSHSAA rules and regulations. The ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader community is essential. Coaching is available as well. A teaching position may be available based on certification and district needs. Evening, weekend, and flexible hours are required as part of activity schedules.
