| Description: | The Winston R-VI School District is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered individual to serve as Head Boys Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 School Year. The successful candidate will lead and grow a comprehensive basketball program while fostering athletic excellence, academic accountability, character development, and strong community connections. Winston R-VI is a small, rural school district located approximately 45 miles north of Liberty, Missouri. We value relationships, tradition, and providing meaningful opportunities for our students to grow and succeed both on and off the court. The Head Boys Basketball Coach will be responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and development of the boys basketball program, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and student-athlete success. | |
| Other Information: | Qualifications:
Prior high school basketball coaching experience preferred (head coaching experience a plus) Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, player development, and game strategy Ability to build and sustain a comprehensive program (grades 6–12) Commitment to academic success, character development, and positive student-athlete experiences Knowledge of and ability to comply with all MSHSAA rules and regulations Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, and the community Teaching position may be available based on certification and district needs Responsibilities: Lead, organize, and oversee all aspects of the boys basketball program Plan and implement organized, progressive practices and game preparation Supervise and mentor assistant coaches Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, equipment, and program needs Ensure student-athlete safety and appropriate supervision at all times Engage families and community members to support program growth and Redbird pride Interested candidates should submit an application to the Winston R-VI School District.
