Description:  The Mexico Public School District seeks a self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills to serve as an Instructional Coach at the secondary level for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of effective instruction and assessment and be dedicated to supporting individual and group learning that supports the district and building(s) vision. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience-Required B.S. in Education-Required Master’s Degree in Administration or Curriculum and Instruction-Preferred Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate-Required Administration Certification-Preferred Prior Instructional Coach Experience-Preferred Reports To: Assistant Superintendent and Building Principal(s) Terms of Employment: 185 Teacher Contract Days (includes 4 paid holidays) with 15 extra days totaling 200 contract days. Job Functions: Build strong relationships with with administrators, staff and teachers. Develop coaching and feedback cycle for teachers. Provide individual coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners. Conduct teacher observations (non-evaluative) and provided feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth. Teach model lessons. Assist teachers with resources, materials, and information to support classroom instruction and planning. Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum/Instruction and building principals in designing professional development focused on improving the alignment and delivery of the curriculum to increase student success and close performance gaps. Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum/Instruction in coordinating/facilitating New Teacher Week. Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum/Instruction in developing curriculum and assessments aligned to the MLS. Promote the utilization of action research, common formative assessments and summative assessments to develop and adjust classroom instruction. Leads data dialogue sessions with teachers with a focus on continuous improvement of student achievement. Develop and facilitate before and after school workshops that support effective instructional practices. Develops and follows a plan of self-improvement which promotes both personal and organizational goals. Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress, and appropriate professional manner for the work setting. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. Adheres to effective safety practices. Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
