| Description: | Missouri Military Academy is seeking an outstanding educational specialist for the position of Learning Specialist, starting the 1st of August, for the 2022-2023 school year. The ideal candidate is a licensed teacher with a master’s degree in school counseling, special education, or related field in education. Candidates must have at least three years’ experience in middle and/or secondary school, with experience managing assessment data and using it to support educational decisions. The role of the Learning Specialist is to support cadets with different learning styles by providing intervention and remediation; managing and monitoring cadet assessments; supporting teachers in their efforts to advance cadets with different learning needs within the classroom; working with cadets on learning strategies, organization, executive functions, and study skills. The Learning Specialist will be responsible for communication with parents about their cadet’s needs, plans for remediation, and academic progress. A commitment to relational teaching and to the academic, social and emotional growth of young men is essential. The ideal candidate would possess excellent administrative, planning, organizational and communication skills and be able to successfully work with parents, colleagues, company leadership advisors, coaches, administration, and cadets in a professional manner. Candidates are expected to embrace our military educational model base on structure, self-disciple, and accountability. They should be realistic and excited about the demands, challenges, and rewards of working in a military boarding school “family like” environment. The salary for this position is competitive and based on education, certifications, experience, and demonstrated job skills related to the qualification requirements.
