| Description: | Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Teacher Formation Helias Catholic High School, the diocesan high school in Jefferson City, Missouri, is seeking an Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Teacher Formation for the 2021-2022 school year. The Assistant Principal serves as a spiritual, instructional and curricular leader at the school and reports directly to the Principal. The Assistant Principal supports the mission of the school by ensuring a strong academic program and providing guidance and supervision to faculty. A successful candidate is a practicing Catholic, with the vision to lead by personal witness, and exhibit passion in articulating the mission of Helias Catholic. Position Responsibilities: Organizes grade-level meetings for faculty and counselors Approves student schedule changes Creates the schedule for midterm and final exams Assists in the academic placement of students in consultation with faculty and counselors Directs the registration and re-registration of students Oversees the annual AP audit process Maintains curriculum summary of all courses Updates and publishes curriculum guide and course offerings documents on an annual basis Updates website in the area of academics in conjunction with the Communications Department Reviews grade reports and other academic data Assists with issues of ineligibility and academic probation Works in conjunction with the Director of Communications, and the Principal to compile and publish content in the weekly newsletter Assists the Principal in the formation, supervision and evaluation of all faculty. Other Duties: Coordinates the planning and execution of the Academic Awards Ceremony Assists in the supervision of extracurricular activities and athletic events Attends and/or participates in major Helias events Attends conferences and/or workshops (as needed) in order to stay well-informed of latest educational trends and research Qualifications: Commitment to embracing the mission of Helias Catholic Practicing Catholic, in good standing Completed Virtus training Minimum of a four-year B.A./B.S. degree (Master’s level preferred) Prior high school teaching experience (a plus) Passion for Catholic education Excellent verbal and written skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office required Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple, and occasionally simultaneous, deadlines and projects Excellent judgment, confidentiality, discretion, and diplomacy | |
