Description:  The position is for the Automotive Technologies Instructor. The duties of the automotive instructor involve training students in auto repair, parts installation, and maintenance. Your responsibilities may include: Facilitate instruction in the automotive maintenance program, Course emphasis will be on NATEF tasks as related to Service Fundamentals, Engine Repair and Performance, Brake Systems, Steering and Suspension Systems, Electrical and Electronic Systems, Chassis Systems, Climate Control Systems, Alternative Fuels Technology, Vehicle Computer Control Systems, Automatic and Manual Transmissions, and Vehicle Body Mechanical Systems. Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe learning environment. Work to provide clear Automotive Maintenance pathways and subsequent partnerships with secondary education. Ability to operate and maintain a working automotive shop environment, including but not limited to inventory, ordering/purchasing of supplies, tools and equipment along with the maintenance and service of required equipment. Teach students, through hands-on experience in an automotive shop, basic maintenance techniques tor tune-ups, tire rotation, and oil change, and you may demonstrate more advanced techniques for computer diagnostics or installing or repairing vital systems such as the engine, electrical system, or transmission. Work with faculty team members to coordinate and guide students in activities related to the SkillsUSA, including but not limited to, fund raising, industry related field trips, and preparation for the annual SkillsUSA competition. Requirements: Hold or be eligible to pursue a Certificate to be a Career Education Teacher in Missouri. Must possess one of the following qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4,000) hours of Department-approved, closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years; or • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5,000) hours of Department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years; or • No degree and six thousand (6,000) hours of Department-approved, closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years.
Other Information:  Salary is commensurate with experience and/or level of education.
