Description: | Position: Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Qualifications: Education Level: Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership and/or Curriculum and Instruction from an accredited College or University. Certification: Valid Missouri teaching certificate (Building Principal certification preferred) Experience Desired: Minimum of 3 years administrative experience or experience in coordination of academic programs General Summary: The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning shall be responsible for supporting the implementation of best instructional practices and curriculum design in order to ensure district-wide alignment and equitable experiences for all students. The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning will ensure consistent implementation of standards-based instruction and researched-based best practices in order to support student growth for all learners. The statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual assigned to this job. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of personnel so employed. Performance Responsibilities: Directs, monitors and supports planning and implementation of district efforts and initiatives pertaining to curriculum, instruction and assessment. Recommends to the Superintendent financial consideration for curriculum development, instruction, professional learning, and assessment needs Oversees and analyzes the continual development and support of curriculum, instruction and assessment in accordance with the Show-Me Performance Standards Assists building principals in the approval of all curriculum materials and resource adoptions Works in conjunction with the Administrative Team and certified staff in the development of district curriculum Oversee the fidelity of administration of the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and End of Course (EOC) exams. Coordination of curriculum and instruction in conjunction with the Technology Department Coordinates and Oversees Professional Development of Certified Staff Assists the Superintendent in the development of MSIP/Strategic Plan Seek, coordinate, write, implement, and monitor grants related to curriculum, instruction, and technology At the request of the Superintendent, shall assist in other duties as assigned.
