| Description: | Richmond R-XVI School District, Richmond, Missouri, has an opening for a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Special Services for the 2023-2024 school year. The Director of Special Services provides leadership to coordinate and supervise the effective delivery of special education services, Early Childhood Special Education, K-12 English Language Learners, 504, Gifted, Parents as Teachers, various state, and federal grants. To accomplish these tasks, the Director of Special Services must work closely with the community, staff, and administration of the Richmond R-XVI School District. The Director of Special Services reports directly to the Superintendent. Employment is twelve months, benefits according to Board policies. Preference given to those holding a Special Education Administrator Certificate and a Masters Degree or higher. Is properly certified as Special Education Director. Experience with both the special education process and the administrative aspects of special education. Possesses knowledge of special education process, law, and effective practices. Possesses knowledge and has experience with co-teaching. Is familiar with PLC and the collaborative process. Holds high expectations for self and others. Embraces change and employs problem-solving skills. Utilizes effective communication skills, negotiation skills, and team-building techniques.Demonstrates commitment to professional growth. Demonstrates flexibility and versatility while effectively collaborating with others. Oversee and evaluate multiple programs. Position will be open until filled.
