Job Title:  Behavior Interventionist/Teacher (anticipated)
Job Vacancy Description:  Special Education (K-12)
Description:  The Houston R-1 School District is currently looking to fill the following openings for the 2023-24 school year: *Behavior Interventionist/Teacher* for the Exceptional Child Education Cooperative. Salary is contingent on years of experience. Contingent upon the State of Missouri continuing the Teacher Baseline Salary Grant, the starting pay could be $38,000 up to $60,000. Currently, the Houston R-1 School District offers a fully paid health insurance plan (with full-time teaching position) along with additional benefits. PURPOSE: to assist with the provision of behavior intervention services for students who exhibit significant behavioral challenges. QUALIFICATIONS: The Behavior Intervention Specialist must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in at least one area of special education according to certification requirements as set forth by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or a related area and knowledge of special education process requirements. Applicants must be able to demonstrate competence in functional behavioral analysis, behavior management skills, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations, and be able to work independently with minimal direction. Completed graduate coursework in Applied Behavioral Analysis or enrollment in an approved degree program of Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred.
