| Description: | TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 months QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's degree in law enforcement preferred and/or experience in the field, management, public policy, or related field required. 2. A minimum of five years’ experience as a security professional in the education field or similar environment, with a demonstrated ability to communicate with students required. 3. A minimum of five years of experience is required in the management of police/security with appropriate training and experience gained in civilian and/or military law enforcement (e.g. Master at Arms or Provost Marshall if similar in scope and responsibility). 4. A working knowledge of both Federal and Missouri State law enforcement rules and regulations required. 5. Demonstrated skills in physical and community security issues (e.g., lighting, locking systems, patrolling, reaction force management, security systems, emergency response, community policing) required. 6. Must be able to organize and coordinate staff training. 7. Must be able to interpret institutional policies, plans, objectives, rules and regulations and communicate this information to subordinates and others. 8. Must be able to prepare and present detailed studies and reports to include recommendations concerning the substance of the studies and reports. 9. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in a diverse educational setting are essential. 10. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to prepare and deliver oral presentations before small, medium, and large groups of people. 11. Must possess strong computer skills including but not limited to; printers, word processing, database management and spreadsheet software. JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Safety and Security will plan, organize, direct, evaluate, and report on all personnel and operations involved in the public safety, security, traffic, and parking functions at all of the Webb City School District campuses. The Director of Safety and Security will direct and oversee all state and federal procedures in regard to FEMA shelters. Director will act as the Webb City School District liaison with all local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. They will build constructive relationships with all local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies including working alongside district SRO’s. The Director of Safety and Security will create structures that build goodwill between law enforcement and students. | |
