Description:  JOB OVERVIEW: The Middle/High School teacher will seek to accomplish the school district’s philosophy of education through instruction and example, and provide lessons that meet students’ requirements, interests and capabilities. You will take precautions to protect students, equipment, material and facilities and Keep accurate record in compliance with relevant laws, policies and regulations. You will collaborate with administration to create and implement rules and policies regulating student conduct. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Meeting with students and parents to discuss education-related issues, and attending staff meetings • Establish a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning environment that is conducive to learning • Instruct students by lecturing, demonstrating and using audiovisual aids and other material to supplement presentations • Prepare course objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirement of state and school • Advancing positive interpersonal relationships with coworkers and students. • Communicate proficiently with students • Implement district-adopted curriculum • Prepare for assigned classes and provide lessons at designated times • Integrate suitable use of technology • Administer tests following district testing protocol and provide timely progress reports • Determine and support standards of classroom behavior and uphold district-adopted discipline policies • Plan and supervise assignments and activities for student teachers, teacher assistants and volunteers as required KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods • Proficient knowledge of applicable laws, policies and procedures • Excellent people skills • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Outstanding organizational skills • Proficient computer skills • Availability to work extended hours on occasions TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & EVALUATION: Length of contract and salary to be determined by the Certificated Employee Salary Schedule and Addendum as approved annually by the Board of Education. Performance of this job will be evaluation in accordance with provisions of the Boards’ policy on Evaluation of Certificated Personnel.
