Learning Momentum | 'Behavior Intervention Coach (60 hour para)' | 'OTHER' -- (revised 8/7/2015)
Paraprofessional with at least 60 college credit hours wanted for the position of Behavior Intervention Coach. The position is for a new agency, Learning Momentum, approved through DESE to serve children with Emotional Disorders who have challenging and sometimes explosive behavior. Learning Momentum will open treatment Centers for these children using the curriculum, Rage to Reason written by Amy Buie. Each Treatment Center will be located within a Missouri School District but will not be part of that district. The classrooms will be limited to no more than 6-8 children. Each classroom will also have a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to complete FBA’s, train, and write the behavior plan The Behavior Intervention Coach will provide behavior support to assist in the classroom. Each student has a one on one paraprofessional. Districts contract with Learning Momentum to provide programming and the district is required to send the work for the student to keep them up to date with their class. Most students will eventually transition back to their classroom in the public school. This position will require assisting students in crisis and may include restraining and transferring students who are having aggressive behavior. All necessary training to keep staff and the student safe will be provided. Opportunities for advancement and obtaining teacher certification and/or certification in Behavior Analysis will be available to a select number of employees. Position are open in all four Centers: Washington, Bowling Green, Sullivan, and Montgomery City. Some travel may be required.
