The Laquey R-V School district has a possible opening for K-12 Instructional Coach the 2016-2017 school year. This is a new position. The instructional coach is someone whose chief professional responsibility is to bring evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with teachers and other school leaders. This position will also work to improve and align curriculum, oversee district-wide Unit of Instruction (UOI) processes and procedures, and seek out new classroom grants to improve instruction. The responsibilities include: Focus on one-on-one and small group support for teachers and school leaders around evidence-based literacy strategies and the instructional coaching process with the goals of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity in schools. 
The instructional coach will be confidential, non-evaluative, and 
supportive and build trusting relationship between teachers and the instructional coach. Coaches work one-on-one and in small groups with teachers on specific teaching strategies or problems, focusing on practical changes they can make in their classrooms. 
The coach will assist teachers in meeting UOI goals, and assist in creating, monitoring, data collection, and evaluating teacher UOI and growth success of students (to report to the building principal). Ensure teacher UOIs are aligned with Missouri Learning Standards and Curriculum. Organize all teacher UOIs and collect data for each. Organize the UOI information into a usable format. The Coach will ensure curriculum and lesson plans are aligned to Missouri Learning Standards and provide artifacts for teacher growth and improvement. The instructional coach will provide professional development of teachers as a trainer and inform the practice of all newly hired teachers to the district of UOI, curricular, and professional expectations and obligations.
